Andrea Prencipe

Andrea Prencipe is Professor of Organization and Innovation and since 2018 serves as Rector of Luiss University. Innovation is his preferred subject of research and teaching, as well as the principle inspiring his decisions and actions at Luiss. Under his academic leadership, the University’s ultimate goals have been: the enquiry-based educational approach (promoting students’ critical and creative thinking); multi- and inter-disciplinary degree programs; internationalization (fostering partnerships with relevant international institutions as well as double and triple degree programs).

After reading Economics & Business at the University of Chieti-Pescara G. d’Annunzio, prof. Prencipe specialized in innovation studies and received an MA in Innovation Management from Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, an MSc in Technology and Innovation Management from SPRU (University of Sussex), and a PhD in Science and Technology Policy Studies from SPRU. In 2016-2018 he served as Luiss’ Deputy Rector. Prior to that, he held academic positions at the University of Sussex, INSEAD, and University G. d’Annunzio, was Visiting Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management and BI Norwegian Business School, and Honorary Professor at the University of Sussex. He has been invited speaker at many international universities, including Harvard Business School, the University of Michigan, Oxford University, and taught courses on innovation at Solvay Business School and the National Economic University of Hanoi.

His works have been published on international journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Industrial and Corporate Change, Organization Science, California Management Review and with international publishers – e.g. Oxford University Press. He sits on the editorial board of Organization Science, International Journal of Project Management, and Research Policy. His work frequently appears on national and international newspapers (Corriere della Sera, Sole 24 Ore, Financial Times).
