Ariel C. Armony is the Provost and Executive Vice President at Babson College.
Before his appointment at Babson, Armony served as the Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs and Director of the University Center for International Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. He oversaw the university’s global strategy and fostered international partnerships to advance education, research, and cultural understanding. Armony previously served as Director of the University of Miami’s Institute for the Advance Study of the Americas and held visiting scholar positions at renowned institutions around the world, including the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and Nankai University.
Born in Argentina, Armony earned his undergraduate degree at Universidad de Buenos Aires and later pursued graduate studies in the United States. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on democratization and civic engagement. His early academic work explored civil-military relations and the political transitions of Latin America’s Southern Cone.
