Alexandra Velasco holds a Doctorate in Education with a focus on Organizational Leadership from Northeastern University (United States). Additionally, she has an MBA in Sustainability and Innovation from the University of Oregon (United States). She serves as the Director of International Affairs at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, analyzing the strategy for international development programs and fundraising. Alexandra is founder and manages GAIAS Europa, a USFQ hub in Spain that connects the Americas and Europe in academic and research matters. At USFQ, she initiated the Office of Innovation and Sustainability and the Smart Campus Group to ensure more efficient university resource management, leading to STARS Sustainability by ASSHE and making USFQ the first campus in South America to achieve this. She has secured external funding, such as the BID-WISE project for Women in Science Entrepreneurship.
