Raquel Bernal Salazar

Raquel Bernal Salazar is an economist and current Rector of the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. She led the process of adaptation to virtual learning due to the pandemic and led the team the build the Comprehensive Development Program that marked the University´s roadmap for the next five years.

Bernal holds a Master´s and PhD in Economics from New York University. She is an expert in impact evaluation and focused her research on social economics, economics of educations, household and labor economics and the determinants of human capital, especially during early childhood.
