Satoshi Nakano

President, Hitotsubashi University, Japan

Satoshi Nakano is President of Hitotsubashi University since September 2020.

Previous to that, he has also hold the position of vice President and Dean of the Center for International Joint Research, as well as Councillor of the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Hitotsubashi University.

He has also been visiting scholar at the University of the Philippines Dilliman (Philippines), Weatherhead Institute for East Asian Studies, Columbia University, NY (USA), and at the Sigur Center for Asian Studies, George Washington University (USA) and part time lecturer at Faculty of Liberal Arts at Tsuda College and at the Faculty of Letters at Kyoto University.

He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Hitotsubashi University and his areas of studies are U.S. history, Philippine history, Japanese modern history, and International Relations.
