Dr. Dawy currently serves as Associate Provost, Chair of the Graduate Council, Chair of the University Research Board, and Coordinator of the Joint MSFEA/FM Biomedical Engineering Program.
Additionally, he also serves on the Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Communications and Computer Networks (Elsevier). In the last six years, he served as a Lead Principal Investigator for four major QNRF grants from Qatar Foundation leading international collaborative projects.
His research and teaching interests are in the fields of wireless communications, mobile networks, computational biology, and biomedical engineering. For his research contributions, he received in 2012 the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Researchers and in 2011 the IEEE Communications Society Outstanding Young Researcher Award in Europe, Middle East, and Africa Region.
Dr. Dawy holds a BE Degree in Computer and Communications Engineering from AUB and a Doctoral Degree in Communications Engineering from Munich University of Technology (TUM).
